Fall Safety

HumuloVR Fall Safety started life as part of a safety training contract for the US Air Force, and eventually was expanded and made available to customers. Developed in conjunction with communication tower professionals, the primary goal was to enforce muscle memory of harness and lanyard usage when working at heights. Developed for the Oculus Quest 2 and Pico Neo 2 and 3. Interactions created with an early version of Unity XR Toolkit.

Built a totally custom climbing system for use with Unity XR Toolkit. Any collider can easily become a grabbable climbable object with one simple script.

Anchor points. While clamped to an anchor point, any fall with stop you after a short moment, but you will also be unable to walk or climb too away from them.

These errors not only counted against your final score, but they were intentionally very annoying, to further drive home the need to ensure you were always safely clamped to something.
